Chuck Berry
Call this "How to engineer a shot when there are 3,000+ people in the audience in a club that's supposed to hold 2,000 and the fire department is about to close it down on it's opening night." But when you look at the photo its just him, a moment caught in time, with no hint of the ensuing panic. I was shooting on stage waiting for "the shot" when the lights went off and the spotlight hit Chuck on target. He went into his trademark duck pose... snap. In other shots from the show from the same position you can see 30 people on the other side of the stage facing me, and on a wide shot you can see the sea of fans. The camera, or rather the photographer, creates his own reality.
